Golden saber still golden!
March 26, 2016
One of the best used metal detector purchases I ever made. This machine
hits every target I have in my test garden better than any machine I have.
I have targets mixed with nails and it does the best on them. Only the deep
10" token gives it a problem. The other feature this unit has that I love
is the modulated audio. Deeper targets sound fainter, so if you are after
old coins, dig only the faint signals!
Max Depth: 9 inches on US quarter

Golden Sabre Metal Box Model
November 06, 2012
I just got one on trade with some other stuff. For a 1985 model it is
impressive. The notch is very easy to use. I have owned the newer Golden
µMax. I actually like this old machine much better. It's heavy and does not have a no-motion all metal mode for pinpointing, however with the open center coil, pinpointing is easy.
I will give it a 5 stars. Even at 27 years old, it can still compete with other models
The notch is easy. if you want to find nickels you can set the two controls for just nickels. If you were looking for an earring and had its mate, you could set the notch to a very small window for just that earring.
The machine does not go deep, but it does as well as a cortes or golden µMax.
