Good workhorse

Had one of these many years ago, and there was a lot to love about it, but
it wasn't perfect. Sensitivity of the unit was fantastic, but this was also
it's downfall in mineralised soils. After a while you get used to it as hot
rocks do make a pretty distinct sound. My coil was faulty, very touch
sensitive, but did surgery on it, packing every loose spot with sponge foam
and this made it much much better.
Years later I always wondered how the small 7" DD would have gone on it. Loved the build quality of the unit, positive locking shafts and control box. 8 x AA's was a bit of a pain and heavy. Audio output was very loud, definitely could have done with some audio suppression. I've tried the GMT, but if I went for a Whites VLF again, I think I'd probably go the Vsat again, or GM3 if you can find one!

Gold master v/sat gets gold.

Ground balance a little positive and it is capable to get gold smaller than
you can see. When the ground is hot V/Sat helps a lot. High mineral and hot
and cold stones sound very different from the zip of a legit target. I have
a GMT (Used to chase black sand), but the V/sat can come off the stick and
chest or hip mount which helps when detecting on steeper hills. Love this
machine! Winding my own coils for it now. Will not sell ever.
