All I can say is this was my first PI unit and it works so well I see no
reason to ever upgrade. Simple to operate, no menus, flawless as far as I'm
concerned. Swapping coils to go deeper is less costly then swapping
machines. I use a Joey mono 14x9 gold stalker blitz and occasionally the
stock round 11" DD. Sorry gpx users but I prefer the GP Extreme!!

This machine has a extensive and expensive learning curve and is not
recomended for the novice or occasional user. Perhaps a instructional video
should have been provided by Minelab with this detector. It is cubbersom and heavy. Also, you are wraped up in wires and have to unhook them to dig.

I think the GP is an excellent machine.
I've picked up some small nuggets in schist with it. However. Unless you keep the bungee cord adjusted to level out the weight, one are will look like it belongs to the Incredible Hulk, while the other looks like Olive Oyls.
I once got a good reading on mine, after digging about three feet, on a hot Arizona day, I uncovered the tooth off a backhoe bucket. Wish that iron discrimination went deeper.

Without a doubt, best all-around nugget
detector for mid to highly mineralized ground conditions. Probably the only
detector, besides the SD
series, that can punch through mineralized ground and seek deeper nuggets
that conventional VLF have
missed. Contact me for more info.
