Simplex my latest detector
July 20, 2020
I've had the Simplex for 5 months. Its my upteenth detector over the past
20 years and I must say that I'm very impressed with it. From it many
features, at a reduced price I might add, to it's basic functionality, to
its outstanding performance. I must say I'm impressed.
Over many detectors I've owned in the past. There are many videos out there that go into more detail than I'm going to and explain its abilities better than I can. So I'm just giving an opinion. I have updated it to the v 2.78, which is so cool that one can do that and so far I'm happy with it overall. I might add now that it does seem to be a little chatty at times, depending on the hunting conditions, but that may just be me.
To the facts. It's lightweight, pinpoints like a dream and has good ID capabilities. The depth is very good with the stock coil. I see that smaller coils are out but that has little to do with my type of detecting which is mostly relic hunting. The main comparisons that I can come up with is that it has the raw power of a Shadow X5 with the sophistication of the Minelab XTERRA 705. I do feel I'm getting the best of both worlds when I use the Simplex.
