Sleeper unit??
Have had my F19 now for a few months, and wow!! I really like this machine. I have had a number of detectors over the past few years, and find this is a keeper. Hits rock solid on good targets (for me, that means round targets, rings, coins and the such)... I am mostly a park jewelry hunter and find this machine gets the job done, very well! Runs nice and quiet, steady and solid... The Target ID, is amazing with this machine, at least mine is... I'm pretty impressed. Like others say, may not be the deepest, but not a slouch either... I'm always amazed at the depth I get with the stock coil. The V-Break makes it even more downright fun! I don't see a whole lot about the F19, not sure why... During research I heard there may have been some issues that some folks were having with the early model, but that you could send in to Fisher and they would rectify... But that the next batches had the fix...

All I know is that I could not be happier with the F19... Love the backlight as well... The ease of use, how balanced it is, the V-Break, the Tones, Disc, etc etc... For my needs... Pretty darn good and it earned itself a place in the stable of units I will not be selling. Just a lot of fun - heck even targets at depth the ID remained pretty solid! Being a jewelry hunter, I don't rely on target ID... But it is fun to have it and dig up things and see how or whether the machine was right or not... More often than not, this one is on the money. Is it perfect? Are any of them? Lol - Suits my needs to a T. One of my favorites, period. Have not tried it on the beach though so can't speak for that aspect.
Happy hunting!

Review; Pro's and con's
Having used the GTI 2500 for a year here are some thoughts:

Pros:
Good depth (yeah coins at 8" is nice..)
Fair battery life

Sizing is nice
(helps the newbie, can use pinpoint to "size" a target as well)

Big LCD screen (helps those who have poor sight)
Good pinpoint

Con's:
Heavy

Over priced (yes, really only basic adjustments)

Sound "quality" is bad
(sounds are almost the same)

The headphones that come with sucks

Discrimination is not good for Europe/Sweden
(only practical for USA/North America??)

Coils are heavy.(9.5" and 12.5", epoxy filled?)

Note: it is more suited as a relic machine as it SUCKS for coins.
(you almost have to dig everything)
