Nokta waterproof pointer
Wow......The family owned company of Nokta/Makro really improved the Makro pointer in this new Nokta pointer. First lets look to the positives which are many.
Pro's
-Waterproof to 3 feet
-10 sensitivity settings
-LED built in flashlight
-Works off a simple 9 volt battery
-Can be used audible, audible/vibration, or vibration only -Comes in hi-viz orange
-Replaceable probe covers
-Inactivity alarm for location

Con's -If any it would be the speaker hole in the operation controls of the unit.

If you have you hand cupped over the end it is hard to hear the audible if wearing headphones. The sensitivity settings being more numerous than it's brother company of Makro is great. It really allows one to dial in the pointer to get a close approximation of distance from the probe once you learn those distances for the setting you set it to. The real big plus to a unit like this is once you get it dirty, being waterproof, it can be cleaned very easily by running it under a spigot or faucet. The system is very well thought out and quite honestly if anyone ever tries one of these out will more than likely never use another brand. I am not sure much more could be improved on other than maybe some little cosmetic things but these aren't really worth squabbling over.

Use feel to know where the target is
Uses a 9v battery. Point the tip upwards to turn it on. It turns off automatically after one minute of not detecting any metal. No switches to break, n oexternally moving parts. Comfortable to use and strong from probing in packed soil

Find the general location with your MD, cut a slice in the grasss and probe with this. When you are within an inch of your target, it vibrates in your hand. The closer you get, the faster it vibrates. Reach in with your other hand and pull out your coin, ring, etc.

TOTALLY waterproof and submersible. Don't be afraid to drop this in the water.

It has an auto shut off after one minute of not detecting metal so when I am probing a lot of soil, I reset the time-out by pointing it at something metal like my shoelace eyelet, metal shovel (when using one) or a metal part on my MD.

When battery is going out, it will tend to act squirrely but that is well over 30 hours of use.

1 year warranty, great communication from the manufacturer.

Best price is via DJSdetectors.com, $20 cheaper than street price.

You don't need to see any blinky lights or hear any sounds to know where your target is. Go by feel. Move along to your next target.
