Everything a good detector should be.

I have found a lot of items below the six inch mark. I had a more expensive
detector from Garrett and eventually stuck with the 750. The nicest item I
have ever found was a 3 x 4.5 22k 58 gram gold plaque below the six inch
level. I would never buy from a different manufacturer. I recently sold
this item for $3000.00.

Don't get me wrong I don't think all Garrett machines are fantastic, had a
GTI-2500 that was just not right. Got this detector off of Ebay used and
sent it to Garrett for an upgrade, update and exchanged the old coil for a
new one(they give a 40% discount for your old coil)plus a little cash. This
machine smokes! They coil I got was the coil that comes on the new GTAx
550. The GTAx 750 with this coil goes deeper than the NEW GTAx 550! Don't
belive me call Brad at Garrett and ask him yourself. This detector even
gives my new Tesoro Cibola a run for it's money.

Not that bad

I have been using my 750 for about 3-4 years now as an entry level detector
for myself. I have found numerous things below the 4" depth most of which
were very strong targets. The pinpoint function is very helpful in
narrowing down the final search area. It is an overall very good detector
but, the "only" problem I have, and it probably is my fault for lack of
know-how/experience, is working beaches with high salt content. I have only
used it 3 times on beaches and had trouble picking things out. As far as on
land, this detector works as good as the big dogs. I don't believe this
detector is still available but I have a friend who is considering
purchasing it's predecessor the GTAX 550. I'll letcha know how that turns
out. Until then, happy hunting!!!!!

Hello, i had my garret for 4 years and i have yet to find anything of value
more than 4 inches deep. It can easily find clad with a good pinpionting
system, but it can't comprehend what is deeper. This is perfect for getting
at the modern coins and is pretty good about tuning out trash....but for
those who are serios, get something else.
