It is a good basic machine which, after reading the manual, is easy to set
up relative to the ground conditions and targets. I have had excellent
results with fine tuning of the sensitivity and discrimination dials. A
friends wife lost her wedding ring somewhere around her back porch (she
thought) and asked me to use the metal detector to find it. I didn't find
the ring but I did find about 15 pennies, 4-5 nickels, and 3 quarters in
their back yard. I've had good luck with it, the oldest coin I have found
with it was an 1895 U.S. Nickel.
It is easy on batteries too--seem to last forever. I am sold on White's detectors--have also a GM4 with which I have had good luck finding small nuggets with. I will stack any White detector against competitors in price and performance.

This machine is truly a turn on and go machine with amazing depth. It's
simple, if the signal sputters don't dig, if it's solid dig.I've found alot of coins with this machine, that I missed with other more expensive machines. The two filter setup is nice around pulltabs and such you can still find coins. It is the best balanced machine I have and is extremely light.
The only thing that takes some getting used to is the pinpoint function since the signal fades out when your not swinging the coil. Takes practice to get good with the pinpointing.
