The GEMS is a HR-Gradiometer, which is made to find ferromagnetic metals like iron, nickel and kobalt.
With the optional available Super Sensor there is also a discrimination between precious and non-precious metals possible.
Even cavities like graves, tunnels and grave chambers can be located with the Gems.

J. Patterson in AZ, USA -I own such a Gems unit. The handling is very easy and practicable. It has very low weight and can be taped on the waistbelt. The technology is a gradiometer with 3d output. By scanning an area you can get a 3d image of the area and easily find out depth and position of a buried metal. The Gems shows buried metal and voids under the ground and also other changes of the magnetic field like historic wells or ancient tombs. The depth performance is incredible compared to a common metal detector. A little handicap is the integrated battery which last only 2 hours, because I don't want to stop scanning with this device. I still have a huge amount of interesting places I like to explore.
