Good all around detector
April 12, 2015
Have had mine for 10 years. Works good in sandy beaches. Found a gold ring
after several much more expensive detectors missed it. The more you use it
the better you get with it. I like to use all metal and dig junk, but
sometimes get surprised. Good exercise.

Love it

I bought this detector used off of eBay and so far I've had no trouble at
all with it. I've found several coins it seems to have a pretty accurate
discrimination on coins from what I can tell. I air tested it with a
variety of coins and it would give a strong signal up to 10 inches. Did a
ground test with coins and it would reliably detect them down to 6 inches
and sometimes 8.
I personally think this is a great beginners machine. It's very light, easy to swing and reasonably durable. I think bounty hunter machines are under rated and they can stand up there with much more expensive machines. I would recommend this machine to anyone beginning the hobby. Happy swinging!!!

Not a good detector
February 26, 2012
I bought my fortune hunter on craigslist. org for $70 bucks. The bad suff
about this metal detector is that all the signals get mixed up for an
example if it is iron it would show up as iron or other signals and would
bounce to other signals (signals are very bouncy) to find out what the
metal is you have to go over the traget a couple times to see what mostly
shows up. For coins the sigals would show up correctly but it would
sometimes miss the coin. So for coin hunting I would say its ok. This
detector detects silver and coins good but like I said it could miss your
target. This detector will not detect gold even though in the manual it
says it could even detect gold flakes. So now I'll try and sell my
detector for $100 bucks and buy a Garret Ace 250.
