I have had my sun ray now for a year and I absolutely love it. I have had other pinpointers in the past but none compare to this one. I have it on my minelab which hooks right into the detector. So nice for battery life since it runs through the detector. Also works through the detector so all of your settings work through the probe. Best bang for your buck!

Head to head with the Garrett Pro-pointer

I first had the Garrett Pro-Pointer & I thought it was hands down the best pin pointer ever...

But when I Got my E-Trac I decided to go with the Sunray X1 for several reasons. First being its part of the detector and so it runs off of the E-Trac's batteries.

Second It seems everywhere I hunt its very trashy and the pro pointer picks up everything and this is where the X1 shines....

It is basically an extension of your coil, it follows whatever discrimination you are using so it will only sound on the good target your looking for and not the nail two inch's away from it. Range is about the same as the Garrett maybe a little more depending on your sensitivity. Plus you hearing the X1 through your headphones.

Just have to get used to flipping that switch back to the coil! Overall its a great addition to my E-Trac and just as good as the pro-pointer with additional benefits.
