Nothing bad to say about this md

April 27, 2017
Great for all around! I was disappointed at first because I tried to use it on the beach on wet sand later on they recommend me lower sens and manual ground balance 0-10 and did good on the beach it does not like EMI and gets chatty even at 50 sens sold it to get an omega 8500 would I buy it again? Yes a guy on a seeded contest pull 50 coins in 2 hours he swept the floor with our heads for fast coins this is your detector.

Technetics gamma 6000

I have been using one for a couple of years. I broke my wrist so heavier detectors were out of the question. I am very happy with the performance. It is great on coins. I have friends with more expensive ones, but all those bells and whistles just make it more difficult to learn how to use it. For what I use it is enough and exceeds what I expected from it. I have been detecting since 1977 and this is the lightest and fun to use detector. With our deep S Texas concrete soil I don't plan to dig too deep anyway. HH Arturo

Pawn shop 250.00 first week lots of clad silver ring two silver dimes. 9 inches on a dime constant, here in Tyler Texas in wet soil on off button is in a bad place, easy to turn machine on and off by mistake, some times find your self hunting with machine off. Easy fix with plastic ring and super glue, no biggie, really light, all day hunt no problem 10 hrs plus, well balanced, carry an extra 9 volt in your pocket, they go fast when there done and you loose your detector, prob 15 hrs or so per dura cell 9 volt if this detector hits solid its going to be a good target and id is correct, never use or look at depth so not sure on accuracy of that feature, but your ears tell the story.

Over all opinion this is a good enough detector that convinced to replace my wife's prizm 5 with a gamma 6000 no bad about the prizm, just a lil more weight and not quite as much depth here in east Texas. Easy to use, good to great depth, no complicated programing lots of coil choices for your fav spots. Good luck detecting!

Gamma 6000

February 13, 2014
I have been detecting on and off for thirty years, Looking for a new detector the gamma 6000 met all my needs.

[1] ground balance capabilities in black sand for beach and mineralized soil hunting.

[2] no extensive programs that you need books and options to decipher.

[3] lightweight.

[4] batteries, this unit works on one 9 volt all day and then some.

[5] optional waterproof 'dd' coil, great area coverage.

[6] two headphone jacks for whatever you like to use.

[7] disc. Level and notch disc. Capability.

[8] sensitivity adjustable.

[9] two digit number target identification on screen.

[10] price.

That's why I chose the gamma.

Cons: Not waterproof, I don't like the battery box cover kinda cheep. The pinpoint button and power button are to close together, when using gloves your turning off the unit a lot. Setting the unit to eliminate iron you still get quarter signals on large iron. Unit is no good on small gold, wont pick up a earring post or small round earrings, must be bigger than a small pendent.

Here's the air test, nickel 9" quarter 8" penny 7" dime 7" Kennedy 1/2 8" Eisenhower dollar 8.5"

I have used this detector for about 1 year and like it a lot, I dig most everything and if you don't your missing stuff, This detector picked a 1" iron angle 17" in the ground.

For me, best you can buy at its price range

April 28, 2012
Well I have to say this, I didn't buy the gamma 6000 but it's twin brother the bounty hunter platinum. There aren't mayor differences other than the manual ground balance. Platinum only has te ground grab.
Now the detector has a superb performance, as the previous reviewer just stated. I personally consider it to be equivalent to the top of line t2 or the omega 8000. Personally I see no reason in investing more money in a machine that will give me the same results, just for the name or model that is stamped on the unit. The gamma 6000 is lightweight, it's gorgeous with its large LCD screen. It is just the detector everyone wants but few have. Don't pass on this detector, don't be fooled by higher end models that offer the same but cost more than twice. . .

Just As Deep As The Omega 8000

March 06, 2012
Anyone wondering about the gamma 6000 on its ability shouldn't worry no more I'm here to tell you its a sweet unit and just as deep as the omega 8000 and I think maybe a little stabler, one of the lightest detectors on the market and feels lighter than a tesoro and seems to get best performance using the 2 tone mode, ground grab feature works well and also the pinpoint feature when your getting a dead on 55 showing on the meter and is small like the coin 90 percent thats what it will be, the thing is if you don't have the money for the omega the gamma will work just as good and seems to be the one that handles EMI better than the rest of them.
