Works great! very light

January 30, 2017
I've owned a TDI Pro and now I have a TDI SL. Although it is true that the TDI SL gets less depth than the TDI Pro I don't think it deserves such an insulting review as a single star at all. The TDI SL is very very light and the threshold is rock solid steady at the beaches that I detect. I am very happy with how easy it is to swing this detector compared to my Minelab E-Trac. I am able to detect all day without any arm discomfort! This thing is super light and I love it.
I cant wait to take it to the gold fields and try it there. I was able to find smaller deep targets at beaches and they were deep too. I'm glad to finally be able to counter that one bad review for this metal detector on this forum..

TDI SL, where's the beef?

July 04, 2012

I have used all three models of the White's TDI and still have a couple of units. The SL works, but disappointingly nowhere near the depth of the other two models. Have have both the 7 and 12 dual field coils. The 7 inch was just plain sad on this detector, many of my VLF detectors are more responsive.

Do not get me wrong, I use and have many White's fine machines, but this one needs much more to be a winner in my book.
