T2 ltd se
1: You won't hear what you need to.
2: You'll be wasting batteries so get a set of decent headphones. Do your research, get used to the machine and if its under the ground The T2 LTD SE will find it!!

T2 good in the UK
Sensitivity - maximum.
Discrimination - zero.
Number of tones - 2c.
It runs much quieter like this, and you can keep the sensitivity on max most of the time. All you do is dig the bleeps. The only thing I have found, is I can't use it near electric fences. I just cant stop it bleeping to the pulse of the fence. However, all the good points out weigh the bad by miles.
Iv'e given "ease of use" 4 stars, because I cant figure out how to stop it bleeping around electric fences. I'm not too fussed about finding things at great depth. Any machine that will find an average sized coin at 6 to 8 inches, is fine by me. Infact, most of my best finds have come from the top 6 inches of soil anyway. The coil I use is the Detech ultimate 13 inch. Its light and works very well with the T2.

I bought my T2SE for about 500.00 second hand WELL worth what I paid for it. This machine has done pretty well around old home sites on old silver dimes also well pleased with my T2 easy to operate but does take a little time and practice.

T2 best so far
Never used it on a beach, so can't help you there. Just save up your money and get the detector you can keep and won't be looking for something else. The T2 SE rocks. Using BP, or CL then switching to all metal is so deep you honestly won't believe it.

The best metal detector!
Frankly I believe what the writer doesn't care for is actually what I love most about the T2, what he refers to as very unstable, I refer to as very sensitive. It is noisy, but when most detectors need to run with higher positive gain to accomplish what the T2 accomplishes naturally I say it's what makes the T2 the BEST. AWESOME DEPTH AND LOADED WITH SEARCH MODES, From fine gold to deep cache finds... The T2 SE is hands down the BEST currently available delivering the most bang for your buck!!!

Way over priced
If you want the same performance buy a Fisher F4, not the F5 because the F5 has more features and is more stable. It does have good depth with the small coil. Trust me I really want to like this detector since I paid so much for it, but every time and place I take it out its very disappointing. No one detector has all the features you will need to satisfy you. I usually take 4 different detectors with me when I go out and switch out during the day and different hunting situations. This review is my personal thoughts on this detector.
Keep in mind the resale value of the T2 will drop by 50 percent once you buy it, so buy used.

Fair review of a great detector
First things first, the chatter. Everyone has heard about the T2 chatter. YES, it does talk to you and I will admit that I was very frustrated when I first used this machine, but I stuck with it and I am glad I did. I've been metal detecting for 15 years and have three detectors in my arsenal and they are the Minelab E-trac, Teknetics T2SE (LTD) and the Tesoro Tejon. I would NEVER sell my E-Trac or my T2SE NEVER!
The T2 is my blitz machine and it is so light you can swing it for hours and hours and never tire. Cheaply built? Please, I have mine through swamps, ravines, muddy fields, pastures, sloppy wet grass, etc. This machine can stand up to it all and it has, don't believe me then visit my Youtube page (wes-n-va) ans see for yourself. The recovery speed of this machine is awesome, the depth is hard to beat on any VLF machine you will ever purchase right now on the market. I have found targets as deep as 12".
My soil is very loamy with some heavy clay pockets and it has performs great. I have hunted heavy red soil with high minerals and it did suffer some in the depth category, I'd say by half easy but that is expected with a VLF machine so I will not punish this machine for that.
If you hunt around a Minelab you will get tons of feedback and chatter. If you hunt around power lines and other forms of EMI you will get chatter. If you crank it up to 99 sensitivity you will get chatter. So, be smart with it and hunt around 94-96 sens and you will be just fine and not suffer any lose of depth.
Super trashy areas? No problem just switch over to the 5" coil and glide right through it with ease. Does well in iron infested spots also. Set up is a breeze. Turn it on, set the sens to 96, +2 tones, pump the coil up and down a few times to ground balance and start hunting. YES, it is that easy. I usually set my discriminate to around 41 to block out the hot rocks and iron nails. If I am hunting a fairly clean area I will hunt in all metal mode.
Is the T2 a little noisy at times, yes it is. Will the T2 reward you in relics and coins? YES it will!! It is a winner and you will love it with time and regular use.
