Fisher f19

November 28, 2016
So far so good, I have had qtr hammereds, halfs, full coins micro small and large,l ots of small roman coins, sceattas, jewlery (roman) (medievil) and a bornze cannon ball small type yesterday, that was around a foot down, the coins vary quarterhammereds I can get at 10 inches, I even manage No 6 buckshot (bird shot). Bigger items like shoe buckles can be about FOOT OR SO down all in all a great machine on both soil and pasture, works best in sandy soil, but get great depths in pasture, my land varies from claggy soil to sandy soil {uk}

My go to detector

October 02, 2016
This is my 4th First Texas detector. All the other ones are low frequency machines (7.8 kHz). I bought it after seeing many videos about it and because I wanted something operating at a different frequency to see for myself what the differences would be. I was a little worried that It would do poorly on high conductors. I needn't have worried in the least. I meshed with this detector from the start and have found many goodies.

Fisher sells this as a relic/nugget detector neither of which interest me. It does coins (old and new)very well and is also good on silver and gold jewelry. The essential positive traits of this high frequency machine is that I can run it at max gain all the time without EMI, without falsing and without chattering. The VDI is super reliable and the numbers are stable. FeTone and V-Break are awesome features. The detector is light and super easy to setup and use.

The bottom line for me is that I find more stuff with this detector than any other I have used. A few things worth mentioning that might be negatives to some: There are no real tone schemes. If you like to hunt in 3 or 4 tone mode with other detectors to cherry pick high conductors, forget that with the F19. In other words, sound subtleties is not its forte, visual info is. It's super sensitive to small items (both high and low conductors). It sweats the small stuff big time (tiny pieces of foil, tiny washers, tiny buttons at depth). This can be good or bad depending on what you are trying to find. This for me was the most dramatic difference between it and the low freq machines. It's not meant to replace the lower frequency machines. I just happen to love mine and think it complements an F5 or Delta, Gamma, Omega beautifully.

It's not the end all in depth. It's decent in that department. Don't be fooled by the outrageous numbers some other reviewers mentioned. You most certainly won't hit a US quarter at 16 inches in discrim mode. I doubt it would even peep in all metal. If you want utmost depth, look at the F70, T2 or latest F75 with boost modes instead.

F19 - my best friend

June 01, 2016
Have had the F19 foe 9 months. At first, was hard to figure it out. Now, if it's in the ground, it will find it. Have found great targets in the same hole mixed with trash. Excellent on locking on to a target, and the recovery time is superb! I use a 12.5 CORS SCOUT COIL ( NEL HUNTER ). She's definitely a keeper!!!

Sleeper unit??

September 01, 2015
Have had my F19 now for a few months, and wow!! I really like this machine. I have had a number of detectors over the past few years, and find this is a keeper. Hits rock solid on good targets (for me, that means round targets, rings, coins and the such)... I am mostly a park jewelry hunter and find this machine gets the job done, very well! Runs nice and quiet, steady and solid... The Target ID, is amazing with this machine, at least mine is... I'm pretty impressed. Like others say, may not be the deepest, but not a slouch either... I'm always amazed at the depth I get with the stock coil. The V-Break makes it even more downright fun! I don't see a whole lot about the F19, not sure why... During research I heard there may have been some issues that some folks were having with the early model, but that you could send in to Fisher and they would rectify... But that the next batches had the fix...

All I know is that I could not be happier with the F19... Love the backlight as well... The ease of use, how balanced it is, the V-Break, the Tones, Disc, etc etc... For my needs... Pretty darn good and it earned itself a place in the stable of units I will not be selling. Just a lot of fun - heck even targets at depth the ID remained pretty solid! Being a jewelry hunter, I don't rely on target ID... But it is fun to have it and dig up things and see how or whether the machine was right or not... More often than not, this one is on the money. Is it perfect? Are any of them? Lol - Suits my needs to a T. One of my favorites, period. Have not tried it on the beach though so can't speak for that aspect.
Happy hunting!

F19 the great unmasker

August 22, 2015
I have used the F19 for about 25 hours and while at first I was not too impressed with it, I am coming to really like what it can do. What it can do better than any detector I have used previously, is find good targets next to, over, under, and nearby to junk(rusty iron and the multitude of modern park trash)The disc setup is quick and can be fine tuned along with the "V break" I set the disc to 35 which allows a small amount of the iron signal to come through and the "V break" at 55 which is two to three numbers lower than a nickel.

With just two tones, you have to do some screen watching, but this detector is the best detector I have ever used for locking on to targets. When over a coin or button, the numbers stay perfectly consistent. It is unbelievable how tight the numbers stay. If you are a coin hunter, you will appreciate this trait. Also, this detector has some built in settings that are trend setting. For instance, the volume can be set to lower iron grunts and while keeping good targets loud. This is extremely easy on the ears if you like to hunt with little or no discrimination.

I have not found the F19 to be a "deep seeker", but I have found it accuracy and recovery speed to more than make up for the depth. It is not bad in the depth department, but if you are expecting 10 inch deep coins, you might be disappointed. I can find coins around 8 inches deep with the stock 5x10 coil.

One final note, if you find a rusty nail, piece of foil or slaw first, recheck the plug because more times than naught, there is something good hiding with the junk.

Good for relic and gold.

November 01, 2014
Great metal detector. Deep on relics, 19kHz. Also very sensitive to gold nuggets, and rejects hot rocks very well. Not the best on the beach. It also works well on GB and f75 coils. Good in hot ground conditions, versatile, and very durable. Locks onto targets very quickly. Deepest target was a 19 gram gold ring at 17". Picks up 1 grain of gold at 3-5" depending on ground conditions.
