I use the QDP as a backup to my Land Ranger Pro. I have mild soil, so the
lack of ground balance is fine for my area. It is a quick turn on and go
machine. Nothing fancy, but it is extremely light to be able to swing all
day and has a big display to easily see the segments, depth and
conductivity numeric ID at a glance.
Like my LRP, the QDP is extremely fast in recovery speed. I used to have a Fisher F2 which I loved, but found the QDP to have 20 percent better depth, same recovery speed and larger screen (plus volume). The QDP is easy to set and go. And it's fun factor is there also. This is a basic detector that does the job. The stock coil gets a quarter at 9" deep. I've put the 11" DD from my LRP on and it does see a 10" quarter. The Quick Draw Pro is a great beginners/learners unit or a backup for the knowledgeable enthusiast. Phantasman (Dan)
