Great machine ace 300
February 04, 2021
I'm using the ace 300i with a dd coil and it's awesome. Great depth,
accurate target I.D. and great recovery speed. I generally run mine in all
metal, or relic mode, once you've upgraded the coil it will run on full
sensitivity pretty much anywhere, except wet sand, it's possible to use it
on wet sand, but with sensitivity turned down some. A really great machine,
that's so easily turned into a higher end performance, simply by adding a
nel coil or the dd coil, detech ultimate is great coil for it too.

Garret Treasure Ace 300
March 19, 2011
Well, what to say, I sold my bounty hunter back in 2004 or so and bought my
treasure ace 300. Big mistake, I'm not sure if it's just my unit or every
treasure ace 300 but I can only detect coins(even quarters) in all types of
soils which I have tried to a depth of 4" if I'm lucky. I was out with a friend one day who was using a similarly priced fisher 1226, he got a hit, I asked if I could swing my detector to compare, it wouldn't even register with my discriminate off and my sensitivity at its highest point. It ended up being a 1930's wheat penny at about 5".
I do seem to find a lot of cans and larger scrap metal so it might work for larger targets but most cheaper metal detectors will as well. All in all I'll take my garrett over a cheap radio shack detector any day but I wont buy a garrett again.

March 07, 2011
I have an older ace 300 my brother bought the gti 2500 while he is trying
to figure out how to use his I find coins plus that little ace 300 is very
rugged, I lost the battery door on the back they shipped me 1 for free
garret detectors are the first choice for me, oh buy the way you can have
all the detector you want but if you don't practice & learn how to use it
you better just stay home./!

Treasure Ace 300
February 15, 2004
I purchased one of these at a bargain
price at a pawnshop, but sold it shortly thereafter. Depth was good, and the discrimination worked as advertised, but that was about it. It certainly wasn't any better than my
Bounty Hunters, and the pricing on the Garret is higher.
About the best thing that could be said about it was that the higher list price brought be a better resale when I put it on eBay.
