Have two and have had them many years but time is taking its toll. One has
stopped working and the other has one foot in the grave. HELP!! I need two
more. My daughter is finally getting into the hobby and she needs one. Have
read reviews on other pin pointers and watched videos but I don't think any
compares to the Tinytec, especially for the price. Mine is the Deluxe, many
years old. Read one review that stated he would like a pouch to carry it
in. I have a leather pouch with the Tinetec name on it, so I know they
are/were available. Good hunting.

I bought a tinytec probe way back when they first came out from Fred
Wagner. I was really impressed with it, later when he came out with the
ultra deluxe I purchased it. I have used it ever since and could not be
happier with anything else. My wife and I still use both.

Feels solid, good construction. works well
July 02, 2005
I've had a couple Wizards, the Tinytec, Automax, and the Treasuremate. I
now have the Vibraprobe 560 and I'm keeping it. I'd say the Wizard is a
best buy at around $15. Other than the Treasuremate, all these pinpointers
work the same /equally well. The treasure mate was a little more
complicated to me (too sensitive). The Tinytec - An inch of detection
depth is all I'm looking for when the target isn't in the hole. The led
light came in handy once when my flashlight burned out and I had to cross a
waterfall via boulders in pitch dark. A couple controls to mess with, just
hold it to the ground and turn the dial to calibrate. Easy enough. Its still small enough to keep in your pocket, but unfortunately it doesn't come with a holder. I dropped it once and had to retrace my steps for 30mins to find it.
Like any unsealed plastic housing with dials / switches. Its going to get dirt inside of it.
If you're looking to spend a little more for quailty ~$40, but don't need a waterproof unit, this is nice.
