I bought the Sand Shark in 2004...took it with me on two trips to the
Florida Gold Coast...I am sad to say that I was not impressed by this machine...on my first trip I used the regular 8" coil and found very few coins...For my second trip I bought the next larger coil, but still, the effort and expense was not worthwhile...
I found more coins on dry sand using the old Tesoro Golden Sabre than with the Sand Shark...
To keep the weight off the handle I tried to put the control box on my belt, but the results were poor...I used the Sand Shark on wet sand and also while wading on the surf...while detecting I saw another fellow digging a lot more than I did ,he was using a Minelab detector...on the plus side the lifetime warranty can't be beat.

I picked up an almost new Sand Shark
off E-Bay and while I have only used it twice on the Galveston, Texas
beaches I was well impressed with
this machine. It is a bit on the heavy side but with the control box
mounted under the handle it is balanced
rather well. The Sand Shark works very well. Has lots of sensitivity and depth. I dug several pennies and bobbing pins at 10-12 inches in wet sand. Battery life seems to be very good as I used it for several hours both days and the batteries still indicate to be good with the built in battery tester tone.
The machine is built bullet proof and should hold up well to some serious detecting. The head phones are water proof also and attached to the detector so you can't use this machine without the headphones. I have been happy with my Sand Shark.

I have owned two pulse detectors over
the years. The Impulse & the Sand Shark. The depth, stability & balance of
the Sand Shark make it my
1st choice when hunting in salt water. In my opinion, the Impulse did not
get adequate depth & was
rather bulky & not as well balanced. Overall Rating
