Best nickel machine I ever had .
Larry in western New York -
This is a nice machine .The only reason why I didnt give it 5 stars is because its heavy and not as well balanced as others out there .This can be solved by hip mounting .
You can use it as a turn on and go with the factory presets or you can mess with the controls if you want .This machine loves nickels .

Just didn't like the nail grabber!!!
John N. in Seattle WA -
Why buy a detector and put up with multiple hours of trying to decipher it's mail.... mystery!! This unit is good but I'm just not happy with it's disc;which is truly poor if your trying to stop digging nails/iron! Has great depth and seems almost like a pulse hybrid....yes I did dig coins at 10 to 14 inches in wet sand....along with enough nails to start a lumber yard.Sorry; this ones a " no go" in my book!

blows the whites XL pro(6000) away period!
Tom in Hollywood, FL -
can you say depth? this machine is awesome. Not alot of crazy signal readings in wet sand beaches like the whites xl pro(which I loved until I discovered this machine) Throw the discrimation feature out because it is junk. Set this baby to no discimation mode and find dimes 10 inches deep in wet sand. I still dont believe it!

Super Machine that teaches Patience!!
Steve in Beckley, West Virginia -
As a newbie to detecting I did a lot of research and gambled on the 3D. The first month I really questioned my choice. I didn't understand it's love of rusted nails. I dug enough to roof my house! Twice!! But refusing to give up I put in a lot of time and dedicated practice. Then it seemed to hit me all at once. I figured out the iron mystery and the machines little quirks. It was a real revelation and my quality targets took off like crazy! Rings, Silver, Wheats. I sometimes had a feeling like I was cheating or something.
When I leave the house with this machine I'm always confident that I will find something interesting. And I do with a frequency that blows my friends minds. I've got to the point that I can show up to any property and find at least a hand full of wheats with ease. And the ratio is about 10 to 1 wheats to some kind of Merc, Silver quarter or the like! I know the big score is just a matter of time. The depth is top shelf. The 3D regulary and solidly identifies targets to 8 inches. I've recovered a few hovering in the 10 inch range with the stock coil. Pin pointing is dead on. I rarely find a silver off center of the pin point. Sometimes wheats can drift an inch or so, but I believe this is due to the corrosion factor. I really agree with the reviewer that stated you get "Jedi" about coins with this unit. It has become an extension of my senses. I see them on Ebay for super prices sometimes. Just buy the darn thing and "unlearn what you have learned." You will be very happy with The CZ-3D.

Bronze Coins
Dave in Okinawa, Japan -
Being in Japan I look for a lot of old Bronze coins..Have used Garrett in the past and done good! Got the 3D and went over some old spots and came up with more old coins between 200-700 years old. Does good on the old bronze coins deep! Small and light..What I need here in the jungles of Okinawa.

6 Months with CZ-3D
Okie-Colin in Sand Springs, OK USA -
I was very frustrated with this machine at first, but wouldn't trade it now. I have found relics and old coins, including V and Buffalo nickels. It is great on deep silver dimes. Using it in trash is tricky and you must slow down and understand how to listen to the tones for good targets buried with iron. Only two knocks are it will cause you to dig deep corroded iron nails that signal coin and you cannot discriminate out zinc pennies. Watch for shallow depth and you can avoid digging zincs as well. It is rugged and dependable like most the Fishers. I have found a Sunray in-line probe helps me discriminate out iron trash without digging a hole to China.

Great machine
skip in Norfolk, va -
I have had my CZ3D since april and have found many great things with it. 1820's military button, late 1700's civilian button, 1880's pocket watch, and others. Pulls coins out up to 9 inches or more sometimes, as long as it is balanced properly. Simple to use, just don't push the sensativity up too high. Almost has a threshold where it will become unstable, but again, just balance it and start cooking. Also works great on the beach in salt mode.
I made note of some negative reviews of this detector before I purchased it. Sufice to say, properly tuned, it cooks. I am still learning the tones, but you get jedi about it after time and can feel the coins. Does not pull alot of trash. I don't descriminate as corroded iron will bounce high/low, so I leave the low tones on. A coin will hold solid unless it is quite deep, then dig per depth on such a signal. HH skip
