Fisher CZ 5

CZ-5 KINDA OF OK

I live in Oregon, and it just doesn't work on my ground as well as some other detectors I have used. I have found some good stuff with it just not that deep, but again I have bad ground. It does love really old rusty nails, you can really hit on them.

The old Fisher made some killer detectors and the CZ5 is one of them. It will find coins deeper than I care to dig with a strong signal.
Best way to run the CZ5 is disc at zero, sens at about 6 to 8 and let it sniff out those deep old coins others pass right over. With the 5 inch and
10 1/2 inch coils it will pull coins from the trash and get those deep on edge coins better than anything I have used in the past.

It is built like a tank to take years of hunting abuse and is still as deep as modern high end detectors...and this was 90's technology.
Great detector and comes highly recommended to anyone wanting the depth of the new F75 and E-TRAC at a fraction of the cost. Buy one if you find a nice one cause you can't beat it for the money spent.

Awesome detector

I would have rated it higher if I could... this detector just plain rocks! I have used other CZ detectors, both analog and digital, but have yet to find one that will beat the CZ5. This detector will do it all and do it well...deep coins, beach hunt, prospect for gold, and much more. A thousand bucks wouldn't buy my CZ5!!

Deep machine

My cz5 is a great deep machine. I have found myself elbow deep in a hole a few times. That is with my 12" coil of course, but the 8" will pick out a dime at 8 inches like ringing a bell. This machine is not heavy lol sorry but the nails are a slight problem. You will learn how to sweep test for them in no time though and should be digging much less after some practice.

For those of you who find..that this detector loves rusty nails dont know your machine..If you think it is a nail sweep from different angles..and if it disappears then it is a nail. This technique helps. A little heavy but built like a tank but for me it has been the best detector I have ever had.

Holy nails !

This is a great deep machine. I have been surprised a few times with such small objects found at 7-8 inches. Not really heavy like others claim. The nails though my goodness, I wish there was a market for rusty old nails I would be rich! The disc is good and other than the nails is spot on most of the time. The CZ 5 holds its own against much newer costlier MDs.

This is a good detector as far as I can see. The only thing I do not like is it is just to dang heavy. To swing this detector more than 15 minutes you would have to be the governor of california. Not kidding.

To be totally honest it is a real deep detector that just loves nails. Yes it is a good nickel finder, but it is also is a good nail finder. Buy one and you will see too.
