Treasure Ace 100
I've had the Garrett Treasure Ace 100 for about 2 months now and have gotten pretty good with it. The trick with it seems to be turn the discriminatior up to the start of the coins section. Then when you swinging the detector only dig the stuff which beeps on when the coil is passed over it both directions. I'm sure I'm missing stuff this way but anything else is to frustrating for me. Beer tops allways show up no matter what you set the discrimination at. Pinpointing is hard and I've quit bothering. Now I just try and guess close to where the find is and dig a 8 - 10 inch circle.Max depth for coin sized objects seems to be about 7 inches. Once I dug a hubcap at 2 feet however.
On the plus, Batteries last quite a while. Maybe 20 - 30 hours.
This is my first detector so I have nothing to compare it to.
I would not recommend buying this detector because you very quickly be out shopping for an upgrade. That said I have had a lot of fun with it. Found a 1934 Tag der arbet badge, a few silver coins, and 2 rings. My oldest find so far is 1907.
