Tesoro Tejon

Real Digger in USA - three stars
The Tejon gets nice depth if you are in soil with no minerialization!! In Minerialized soil it is no better than the rest!!

Deep machine as long as there are no ground minerals present. Otherwise it is a standard 6-8 inch machine on bullets/buttons. A little chattery when you get in iron but does favor smaller brass and such. For the money you can get a good used one for, they are pretty good machines.

Build quality is not so great...must put O rings on the knobs to keep them from turning and you will probably strip out the factory bolt/nut for the coil. Would make a good $350-$375 machine.

Some claim they've dug bullets 12" plus with it. That may be true in sandy soil or ground with no minerals but you wont see that everywhere you go. Loses depth quick when you put it in hard ground.

Very deep as long as the soil minerals are low, hot on low conductive targets such as gold, brass, lead. I did not care for the ground balance, the auto tune was to slow, construction of the battery doors is poor, will not work very well on wet salt water beaches, however works very well on dry sand on gold jewelry.

Huntur in USA - good
I owned a Tejon for 2 months, in that time I found bullets, buttons, etc. A good detector, lite weight and I mean Lite Weight! Easy to GB, fun to hunt with, I wish I had it back. I give it 4 only because I only had it a few months, It is a well made unit, I'd hunt against anybody. Deep seeking. A unit to proud of. Excellent battery life.

Tom Van Vleet in USA - good
I used one for an hour and dug several wheaties down to a foot deep in central Wisconsin black dirt. The handle of my Lesche digger was all the way in the hole when the coins came up. Sharp signals too. Detector does get a bit noisy when you lay it down to dig but smooths out when you pick it up again.

Easy to ground balance, just pull the toggle back, bob the coil while turning the GB knob. Helps to put an O ring under the knobs but watch out for that GB knob as it has 2 setscrews. I found out the hard way and broke the pot shaft and had to send her in for repairs.
